Scottish Outdoors blog delivers first post!

Hello and welcome to Caledonia Dreamin’ :¬)

This blog will feature many things to do and places to visit in Scotland. From John O’Groats in the Scottish Highlands down to Gretna Green in the Scottish Borders.

There will be wonderful sights, sounds, tastes and probably smells. We’ll feature:

Visit: Reviews and info from the larger places looked after by The National Trust for Scotland, Historic Scotland, RSPB etc. to the smaller local places that don’t get much publicity. As well as visitor atttractions and well kept secrets there will be accommodation, cottages, camp sites, bed and breakfasts and hotels reviewed as we experience them.

Hike: Walking route maps, photos and descriptions, from low level walking to smaller hills (Corbetts) and mountains (Munros).

Bike: Cycle routes with maps from short, flat rides to longer rides through woods and along canals plus mtb routes and trails throughout Scotland.

Yum: Places to eat from fancy restaurants to cafe’s and wee caravans parked in lay-bys across the country. Farmer’s markets and fish markets.

Like: Great Scotch stuff that disnae fit in any other category!

We’ll share our personal favourites and we’ll be honest in our opinions as we’re not affiliated to any tourist organisation and it’s all stuff experienced first hand by us. We hope you enjoy this blog and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Cheerio for just noo!
